Our Team - Newtown Technotics

TeamAbout us:

Technotics is a team composed of about 15 school high students who are interested in science, engineering, computer programming, designing, and writing, etc. The team entered the US FIRST Robotics Competition in 2008 and competes in the New York City Regional. We had progressed rather well and still working hard trying to do our best. This year, our team looks forward for an even better season and is highly motivated about the new competition.

Our goal:

All of our team members, though each was drawn into the competition for different reasons, share one common goal: to learn. It is true that all of us want to do our best in the competition, but our ultimate goal is to gain more knowledge into the field of engineering, science, technology, and programming.

Impact on our members:

The US FIRST Robotics Competition has a life-changing impact on all of our team members. Many of us, who have never used an electronic tool before, become very skillful with at least a dozen equipments after the competition. Moreover, those who have always worked selfishly before become team players upon joining the team.

The competition has really drawn most of our team members together. Over the robotics season, we have developed a strong bond of friendship with our fellow students and our beloved mentors. Maruf a valuable member who graduated in the June of 2006, came back frequently to help us. Mr. Yetemian, team mentor / administrator, also returned every weekend to help us organize the team. To us, the Robotics Competition means more than just a competition; it has become a lifestyle that we have all become addicted to.
